Associate General Manager
Three months to build businesses with agents, a budget, and your own ideas.
This winter we're hiring four interns as Associate General Managers. Associate Product Manager internships are programs that give early career generalists a product to own. We want to try something similar, but with entire businesses.
You’ll research markets, look for unmet demand, and build businesses around what you find. We'll get you set up with everything you need, but after that, nobody will tell you exactly what to build. Which ideas to try is up to you. Maybe you start a niche online store, source hard-to-find products, sell a software tool, or offer a service to small businesses. You’ll take swings and test your assumptions with real customers. Put more money behind what finds customers and keep refining. And your interests and experience can be a starting point if you know a customer, a market, or a problem unusually well.
Expect to run several businesses at once. You don't have to arrive with one perfect idea, and you shouldn't feel attached to making one thing work.
What you get
- Each AGM gets a budget, tokens, and our agent infrastructure that’s designed for running online businesses.
- Three months in person, January through March 2027, in our San Francisco office alongside researchers who have built frontier models and are now building ours. Exact dates are flexible. All four AGMs will be here together.
- $10,000 per month in base pay.
- Profit sharing as a bonus on top of your base pay. You’ll earn a generous share of the profits from the businesses you run and a smaller share from the other AGMs’ businesses. It's competitive and collaborative at the same time. We’re still finalizing the exact profit-sharing terms.
Why
By watching where people intervene, we want to understand what agents still need to learn. You’ll keep track of what you try, what happens, and where you have to step in. A business that fails can still teach us something useful.
More about the idea behind this (tweet link coming soon).
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for enterprising people with a drive to create, who’ve made money on the internet before and already use AI extensively to enable their ideas. You’re resourceful, persistent, and adjust when results disagree with your prior assumptions. We’d love to hear what you’ve worked on before and what you learned.
